Cinematographer. Filmmaker. Storyteller.
As of 2020, Preston is a freelance filmmaker and cinematographer. He spent most of his tenure at the Seattle Film Institute building his skills and obtaining as much knowledge as possible. He is known for being a problem solver and critical thinker when it comes down to the wire.
After growing up in Albuquerque, NM for nearly 30 years, he decided to move to Seattle, WA to pursue his dream in being a filmmaker. He started out wanting to do everything in hopes to find out what his interest was in and that eventually became cinematography.
He's worked as a script supervisor, assistant director, gaffer, key grip, director, cinematographer, and producer. He has enjoyed all of them, but cinematography is what intrigues him most about film. He tried being in front of the camera right out of high school but decided that wasn't for, instead he'd be behind the camera.
Film is his love first and foremost. He used to think that films here and there could have done something different and better. Now it's his chance to back that up and make the movies he wants to see.
